Sandrine during their visit to AMSEC alongside Co-Founder Mrs.
Sadia Kaci in 2006.
The Special Education Center, situated close to the village of
Bahirwal near Kharian, occupies a site of 40 hectares. Classrooms,
laboratories, a library, a resource center, living accommodation,
a hospital and administration offices will cover 18900 square feet
of this. Toward the end of 2007, Phase 1 of the building was
reaching completion.
During the past 8 years, the Center has grown from a local school
in a private house into a large specialist center for the
advancement of children with disabilities.
Designed by a French architect and funded entirely through
personal funds and private donations, by the beginning of 2008 the center will be ready to accept its first batch of students. The
current pupils are eagerly awaiting the move to their new school. |
